Smart Parking

We are happy to announce the release of the MSU Mobility app for iPhones. This app collects location and motion data from iPhone users while inside the MSU campus (but not outside of the campus geo-fence!).  It uploads these data anonymously to a secure MSU server, and the aggregation of these mobility data will allow us to get a deeper understanding how pedestrian, bikes, and cars move across our campus at any given time.  This, in turn, will enable us to make positive change to the traffic patterns on campus, reducing walking distances, and making our campus safer.

The app can be downloaded online or by searching for “MSU mobility” inside the App Store.

After the initial download and activation/registration this app can simply run in the background without the need for user input.
