The return of the Detroit Auto Show
To kickstart the transition, MSU has purchased 40 new electric vehicles — a mix of sedans, minivans and light-duty pickup trucks — which are set to arrive this summer. And through Consumers Energy’s PowerMIFleet program, MSU is adding to its electrical charging grid to support the new vehicles.
Students, faculty, staff and visitors can now ride the new electric autonomous bus on campus between the MSU Auditorium and the MSU Commuter Lot (#89) at the intersection of Farm Lane and Mt. Hope. The bus’s 2.5-mile route will run non-stop, roundtrip and is marked with bright green “autonomous bus stop” signage.
MSU has kicked off the second year of its Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, which aims to train future thought leaders for careers focused on the development of innovative, multidisciplinary solutions that address both the technical and societal aspects of autonomous vehicles.
