We advance talent and innovation for all forms of mobility through our campus-wide collaboration across eight MSU colleges, research excellence and unique real-world testing ecosystem.  

Mobility is a top three focus area for MSU. We are dedicated to developing mobility talent, strengthening the workforce pipeline, and fostering connections and collaborations with industry, government and academic partners to shape the future of mobility. Rooted in Michigan State University’s land-grant mission to advance knowledge, make education more obtainable and serve the public good, MSU Mobility’s research efforts reflect the university’s commitment to unabridged access, innovation and community impact. Building on a legacy of practical, interdisciplinary education, we address today’s most pressing mobility and transportation challenges through comprehensive research, industry collaboration and real-world application.  

Our active, connected, four-season campus is unrivaled in size and diverse mobility environments, making it the ideal, real-world ecosystem for MSU researchers and partners to test, validate and explore emerging solutions for:
