Dr. Mehrnaz Ghamami is an assistant professor at Michigan State University. Her research is focused on transportation systems analysis and planning, with applications in sustainable transportation and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). She teaches and advises graduate and undergraduate students in these areas. She has developed a comprehensive modeling framework for analyzing various policy and planning issues related to plugin electric vehicles. She has served as the PI on MI Energy projects and as Co-PI on a few MDOT (Michigan Department of Transportation) and FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) projects. She is named a “Young Member” to the Committee on Alternative Transportation Fuels and Technologies (ADC80) and the Committee on Transportation Energy (ADC70) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), for a three-year term. She is the chair of Integrated Transport Modeling subcommittee (ADB40(2)) of TRB. She is also a member of the reviewer pool for the Transportation Research Board (TRB), and other well-respected transportation journals. Dr. Ghamami got her Ph.D. from Northwestern University prior to joining MSU in 2015.
